I found out about hobby grade(or H.G.) RC vehicles when I was about eight(1998). My older brother took a class about rc vehicles at his high school, which included building your own H.G. rc car(which, for that class, was the HPI RS4 Rally). Seeing all of the advantages (such as speed, replacement parts, etc) of H.G. rc after only being exposed to cheaper toy grade RCs, I decided I would save my money and get one of those. So in 2000 I bought my first H.G. RC vehicle, a Traxxas Sledgehammer kit(a little before Traxxa stopped making kits). I was amazed at the vast difference between it and the Nikko trucks I had before. Of course as everyone who owns an RC know, one is never enough, so in (about) 2002, I got a Tamiya M03 Rover mini Cooper for my birthday. Since then I've acquired an A-tech Leo-X, Losi Mini Baja, Tamiya Scania, and Double Blaze. Ones that I've set my sights on for next RCs are the Tamiya TXT-1 and Pajero. The I chose 'The Mad Modder', because I enjoy modifying or 'modding' my RCs. My Sledgehammer has a second gearbox added to the rear(making it a 4X6), I moved the servo to the axle of my Leo-X and my M03 has custom skidplates for the rough pavement that is aroud where I live(road hasn't even been paved once in the over ten years I've lived here).
