Started off with a Tamiya Boomerang I inherited from a kindly neighbour, and then in my mid teens bought a Tamiya Fire Dragon.
Boomerang was upgraded with a Parma Cyclone II Motor, and then sold in a fickle fit of enthusiasm to buy a skateboard. I regretted that move immediately, but as I remember parts were very difficult to source in the early 90's... Unless you looked in the back of LOOT newspaper or knew a certain Mr Wooster???
The Fire Dragon I bought in my teens was great fun and was later given to a friend and then lost to the great toybox in the sky, I recently bought a knackered old Fire Dragon second hand that is part of a resto project... now complete and upgraded and forms part of a documentary how to in my showroom...
I also have a Tamiya Madcap that I hope to restore in the near future, and am secretly hoping for a re-release of the Madcap so I can build one from fresh.
I am currently looking at 3D CAD modeling and manufacturing as a hobby, and have made some custom RC shells in virtual worlds only... hoping to get some further education [and some parts manufactured] on this as it is taking me years to get anywhere in the little spare time I am able to find to devote to this part of the hobby.. There is nothing like a deadline for getting up and running and getting things done!
