I received my first Tamiya Super Champ kit in 1985 when I was in the 8th grade. Ever since that moment I've been hooked on radio control kits made out of metal and also kits that have scale features like realistic drivetrains (driveshafts, etc.). I couldn't save enough money for a Bruiser before Tamiya stopped making it, but I was quick to buy the Mountaineer as soon as it was introduced. I bought an already-built Kyosho 4-Runner from eBay because I liked the scale appearance and it was a rare kit from Kyosho with many scale design elements not seen in their other kits. Most recently I built a Tamiya HiLux (the new version). I have since upgraded many parts to aluminum because I love using metal parts as upgrades. I also have many other vehicles and a couple boats.
