Thanks Max, will hopefully have it ready for the next run. I agree Crash, I was thinking along the lines of a well used and abused brat. I will though strip all paint off and re-paint as a patched and repaired car, probably with less decals, hmm which reminds me. I'm also toying with the idea of painting the chassis in a satin black. I did notice a stress fracture at the front of the chassis, so don't know if I will have to deal with that.

Thanks everyone. R/Cvet, the wild one chassis is ABS, and this technique should also work. I have some mauri galaxy shock towner mounts I need to try this technique on. You'll need some ABS rods though. One thing I probably should have done in this is remove the paint first, as it will probably contaminate the weld. But it seems strong enough.

Max Power: Original wild one
Nice score there, and jealous you have two! I've always liked the Wild One, and they lend themselves to lots of different colour schemes. Black and /or yellow versions have always been my favourite with alloy rims. Good luck with the restore..

wow, thats pretty cool. I have the Otaki 1/12 scale static model version (yet to be built), but didn't realise they also made it as an RC car. The body looks exactly the same. Dare I ask willl you build it?

fantastic paint job Road Burner. What rims are your running on it? I've been looking for something similar for my pantera.

yogi-bear: Help identifying toyota landcruiser body
Thanks Crash Cramer, I think the Bruiser is the way to go for me. I want one anyway, and don't have a problem having multiple bodies for one chassis. Don't worry, I'll look after this one. Actually I only have a few cars that I am happy to abuse (my mad bull is one of them), and any future rocket experiments will be on a custom chassis. I like driving my vintage cars when I can, but can't afford to replace anything, so care is always taken! I'm not really into crawling either, so even if I use it I doubt it will be for long. For now its safe downstairs in my man cave.

thanks guys. Wow Wyoming, I didn't realise they went for that much! I'm tempted to either get the RC4WD or a Bruiser (which is on my list must haves anyway). Actually 90% of my collection is based around getting cars I wanted as a kid, but already thats starting to expand as I come across different vehicles. Budget wise I might have to go for just a Bruiser as that was going to be my next big save up for, but either way eventually I will do something with this.

Thanks for the quick reply Charel G, I will indeed find a good scale chassis. Your cars look good, I like the scaleness of them so I think I will copy and find myself a scale chassis!

Thanks guys. Max Power, surely we are due for a run! Crash-Chris, yes I was tempted to built, but I won't, nor will I open any of the packaging. I will try to make a mould of the body and driver though. Also I haven't forgotten about your decals, just been busy. I'll make sure I get to them this week. Also I could be interested in any spare parts. Do you have any of the body mounts for the Ligier/Ferrari?

yogi-bear: Updated decals
Yeah I prefer to match real life colours if I can. For the rest of the car I'll either need to copy some spotlights and driver I have here or spend big on ebay for an original set. I'm tempted to just make a mould of some spotlights and a driver that I can then reuse for other projects.

Yeah, the repo stickers that were on it were definitely more green than grey. It seems the original stickers were also like that, but maybe not as bad. I did some research on the car though and the actual rallye car had grey, and this was the closest match I could get (these stickers are a little dark). I'm happy enough with it though.
