LOOK!!!! what the postman brought to me today, my first ever Short Course, £60 off the bay.... Me and the kids are so looking forward to taking this over the park (I've got to buy a battery first). As you can see from the pics its had a good life already, and looks like a lot of that was down the beach. Rust everywhere and look at that motor...... might need a new one.

If you've got any parts for sale let me know. Also any advice is welcomed, whats the best thing to do about all the rust, any special cleaning techniques required??? Are a set of stainless steel screws worth it?? And suspension doesn't return when you push it down, is that just shock rebuild, new shocks, or stiffer springs.. All advice and help will be taken on board. Its got alloy hub carriers at the rear, so I hope they will last.. Now I've put it here, its time to search for a battery..

Thanks Andy for allowing me to join the Short Course SIG....

Steve

you've bought this from a friend, you've got the 32p gearing so no worries of stripping gears, that rust comes from running at the beach, these are bullet proof. good to see it again

Hey Steve, looks cool, like the shell graphics. Gonna be awesome fun. With regards to the rust areas, if your gonna run it and use and abuse, i would just give the runsting screws and arms a clean up then coat them with silicone spray. Ive done that to mine as i live and run mine by the sea and that seems to keep the dreaded rust away. With regards to the shocks i would imagine thats a mix of the springs which arent that stiff anyway and a cheeky shock rebuild required. The other thing is i recon once you start using it, it wont be too long before you buy a 4x4
Awesome truck bud, nice find!

Looks great! I have also just picked up a slash roller which was well used with rusty screws! Enjoy it, mine has already worked it's way up into a classic basher status in my opinion.
