I really enjoyed seeing what members were doing regarding Baja Bugs on the site and though I'd give it a shot. I had an old Frog that had been laying around, so I put it to good use creating a Baja Frog Bug.

Custom engine cage made from aluminum rod. Aluminum wheel covers are from way back in the day (CRP / MRP?) and look good on the car - had just enough for all four wheel and the spare inside. Still need to finish the front skid plate / front bumper yet as well as the painting of the body. First coat is done, but I'm thinking of a cream color for the interior belt portion?

Interior is a homage to those experts (scollins, soonsie, etc.) and seems to fit the body and chassis well.

Well that's enough for now - back to the work bench, I've got a lot to finish :)

ANother Project RE-RE scorcher body set New Paint Cream color for the window area? Hand formed cage from aluminum rod Soonsie style interior Spare tire inside Hand formed styrene roll cage Driver looks worried :)

Woohoo that is nice. I have a Frog Scorcher as well and it is a bit empty in the back. I have some alu rod laying around and may have a go at making a rear cage. I like the square bit that joins up the 4 bars.

Well, now, ya just gotta like this! Inspired! Seems more realistic with the colour not being what you usually see on these. Chris

Thanks for all the comments. The paint is actually a Testors lacquer paint called Fire Orange. It is a very transparent color, so it was sprayed over a dark grey color primer to get the dark metallic orange color.
