Toyota BJ40 - Bushtaxi
My latest creation which I´ve finished only a few days ago.
It is an Aoshima/Skynet BJ40 body which I´ve found on Ebay earlier this year. I´ve been on the lookout for one of these for a couple of years now and finally got lucky. :-)
The chassis is a custom lasercut creation made in Germany. The axles and gearbox are from RC4WD as are the tires and wheels.
The roof rack is made out of brass tubing and has taken me roughly 30 hours to make. The contents of the roof rack are partly self made or customized.
I´m pretty surprised by its good performance. The center of gravity is very high though due to that heavy roof rack and body. The whole car weighs about 6kg.

Really nice looking Yota and the pics are outstanding. Very scale looking unique work and settings. It payed to wait for the shell - quite detailed & just right. The roof rack sets it off too.

Much as I love Defenders the FJ40 remains the ultimate classic of its time. Superb example, and congratulations on picking up one of the rarest of hard bodies. Great to see.

This isn´t a lexan body. It´s an ABS hard plastic body from a toy truck.
