description  This came to in the box of parts given to me by Dan, a racing mate (refer to my story behind my Hot Shot for full background). After the restoration, I would suggest only a small portion of the DNA of this car provided to me in the box of goodies still exists in what we see today. Check out the top 3 pictures and you will see why. The buggy required a full rebuild, top to bottom. All NOS parts were used, and in truth, I probably should have just bought a re-re, but I keep on bringing basketcases back from the dead....when will I learn? This needed a lot of work due to the 'weight reduction' process it had been on the receiving end of (also detailed in my Hot Shot description). I have included a couple of photos of the weight reduction results... This Boomerang typically sits on the shelf with the standard front monoshock, however I have recently converted it to a set of twin front shocks as I anticipate racing it in 4WD stock in an upcoming vintage race meet. Thankfully the front shock mounts, spacers etc were all sitting in the box of bits that were given to me. I'm not entirely sure whether I will leave the twin front shocks on after the racing, I think visually, the buggy looks nicer with a mono shock and a sway bar....decisions, decisions, decisions... This Boomer took a lot of time and patience and I think it has turned out very well. Hopefully you would agree there is a world of difference between the before and after photos.

What is it with people and drills? They should lock the drill bits behind mesh cages the same way they do with spray cans in hard ware stores.

@besty. ROFL the white lettering, if I get this drivetrain smooth enough to get it competitive for next weekend, I'll be running a set of 3 racing wheels and modern rubber....just to preserve my white lettering!

Nice work mate. The Supershot shocks look killer as does the white lettering. Excellent job on the driver also.

@CrashCramer. Absolutely right. There were 3 bodies in the box provided, 1 went in the trash, the other 2 are sitting on top of my beer fridge at the moment as a reminder. This is running a new body and decals set.

I would have to assume that body wasn't the one in the BEFORE picture. Nice looking Boomer and I kind of dig the twin front shocks, makes it look more aggressive. I think it might have been called Team Swiss Cheese back in the former racing days.

Geez, worse than I imagined. LOL, so I wonder how much weight he saved in the end?
