description  A while back, I got a good trade from a fellow TC member, it included a set of nice rally style wheels, but these wheels had glued tyres... That was only the first problem, it had 2 different pairs of tyres... There's the second problem... Them tyres were worn, split and slightly perished...

Instead of binning them and buying more, I decided to restore them to their former glory.

I cut, hacked and ripped the old tyres off, resulting in hard lumps of super-glue everywhere around the bead.
So I got out the old faithful Dremmel and got to work, I found a bit in the kit that was a perfect width to fit in the bead (the first bit of good luck I've had.... EVER!)
Sanding down the lumps of old rubber and super-glue wasn't difficult. After the bead was cleaned up, I swapped tools and started to clean the 3 layers of paint off (the good old Graffiti Remover as seen in my other tutorial) and sand the chips and dents out of the lips.
After a good wash with hot water and Fairy washing-up liquid, the result was looking good, I now had a decent set of wheels ready for primer and paint.
I used White primer, as I wanted a white inner rim with a Yellow face and was waaaaaaay too tired at this point to mask anything up. So I took the lazy option.

See pictures below for the results... It was a good job well done and took less than 2 hours including drying times, about 30-40 minutes of actual work.

As always, comments are welcome

Good to hear it. Glad its being run. I always get too sentimental about shiny new things and get scared to get them scratched n dirty lol

Those tyres came like that on the pug when I first got it Daz, I was thinking of doing this too but never had the time. Looking good now. The Disco is running great now too. Cheers.

I've thought about doing this sometimes, but most of my wheels are so broken and road rashed it wouldn't be possible... You did a nice job though!

Cheers dude. I would have done them better. But they're runner wheels so I figured they'd be good enough for the job
