| description | I was just wanting to restore a hotshot, any old hotshot when I picked this one up on epay a couple years ago. I fancied the color scheme.
This holiday I took advantage of a visit back home to clean up this very dirty and tired Hotshot.
Low and behold it was a Mk1! Tore it down and cleaned all the parts in my mothers kitchen then flew back with it in pieces in my suitcase.
I had to replace all the cracked front A-arms except one. The rears are ok. Tires are surprisingly good too. I put a sport tuned in and modern electrics.
For now he is headless until I get some Z parts!
I think I may need new springs too, because the rebound is horrible = nonexistent.

Thanks for the info kontemax. I have a slight dilemma as I don't really do shelf queens. Despite this I have kits sitting on shelves, but that is more a problem of time, or lack there of!
Typically Mk1 springs were not so steely and after some time they didn't work. If you use this car probably you will break a lot of weak parts such as front gearbox, knuckles, arms. Restore it at top and keep it as a shelf queen, the Mk1 is quite rare.
