description  This may not be new idea and I'd be surprised if someone hadn't tried it yet but when I saw the Duratrax VW buggy come out the first thing I saw was the faux engine and thought it might work with the Sand Scorcher as a low cost way to get a Faux engine, at about $6.29 it is just that and requires only minimal trimming to fit. I will be doing more to this one with some paint and weathering but I just stuck it in my Sand Scorcher to test the fit. Might make some better exhaust pipes and such but all in all a very cheap way to get the engine look. Note: I have the narrow RC4wd rear cage so the exhaust may have to be changed a bit to fit a stock plastic scorcher cage but this is a great starting point for an engine on the cheap.

It's like adding the finishing touch to a scorcher, putting a scale flat four on the back. You would almost swear that this is a model only, hard to tell that it's RC to the untrained eye Nice one Seth!

Good catch! Maybe get 2 and hack them to make a nice dual port dual carb engine. This will be tossed into my next Tower order for sure!

these look great and a nice low price. I am sure with a little bit of work a fan housing could be added to enhance it further. I have also ordered a couple

Nice! All the motors I've seen attempted so far stick out the back way too far to be realistic, this looks much better...

Wyo, apparently those single ports from Duratrax make NO POWER!

It has been said.. J-Mans Dual Port is serious kick ass!

Looking forward to seeing your end result Mate..!

oh the other metal REC motor plate actually shorted out my 35t motor and shut down the esc so I just left it off, it might work with a stock motor

Looks great! Just curious - why did you use the Rogue gear cover, but not the motor cover that comes with it? Am about to start a new project with my Rogue bits - was there a problem fitting ?

What a great find! I had seen the new buggy and engine, and thought Tamiya should do that. I had no idea you could just order the engine part! Great idea, thanks for sharing!

It does finish off the rear, looks better than the gear box casing
