description  Have had this car for a week or so and had no intention of buying any cars for a while but my eye kept returning to this on the bay so i entered into a bidding war...and won!!! well it looked ok on the site albeit with a broken chassis but i thought with the re-re shots using the hs2 chassis a replacement would be cheap (but not original sorry) . Well it arrived very quickly and although very dusty the parts that were obviosly damaged were thrown (chassis and front bumper) and really good bit was that all else was fine, just really dirty and not sure if when the kit was new it came fully ballraced but this one does so better still. In honesty i think this car was used back in the day, broken and then stored... a very long time!!! and then sold as was. Just a new bumper to find (re-re again!!) and a rear wing from TBG and possibly full decal set or a wing decal and i reckon it will be done. One major part that was missing and the seller was not quite sure if it was there was the undertray... had seen a full sprue for sale but nearly £30.00 for one part needed was a bit excessive so thats where mr crash cramer came up trumps and not only is the undertray he sent near mint he also has sent me a vintage MSC with all the fittings intact for my new build hotshot 1 . Cheers chris , anyway hope you like the project so far and comments as always most welcome.

thanks mr weston and think the upper arms at least will need replacing as had not noticed until yesterday evening they both have bad cracks in them. As much as i like original parts though am also not too worried about using re-re items, hope to make it look halfway decent john, many thanks regards hot rod

Always nice to see HSII's on here. You'll enjoy sorting this one. Watch out for the rear arms as they nearly always crack where the screws go in so worth leaving them be rather than take them off to clean etc.

Looks to me like most of the hot-shots parts can be chopped and changed with the time and effort, pretty sure the body is interchangeable too but not tried it yet . May be interesting to make an hybrid ? cheers crash once again buddy

Looks good, it teased me back in those days, but mostly as I could NOT usually use the parts for my HotShot to repair it, or at least that is what I was told. Fast forward to nowadays and we know that it would have helped my HotShot to have some HS2 infused here and there and it wouldn't have been too bad a looking car. Oh well, now to relive those days now and again.

@gingerspice - i wondered at the time if there would be any other TC members looking at it, went for a quite low figure considering how rare they are- guess the bust chassis put alot of people off, nearly did me a couple of times as there was no telling what else could be wrong. Sorry you missed out but will try and do it justice. Regards hot rod

cheers james really has knocked me off my feet (literally lol) one thing this hobby does is A: gives us something to work on and B: like minded tamiya nuts to talk to , so at least whilst not being able to get out and use the cars i can talk about and build them!! cheers james

well mad bee my friend i know exactly what you mean about dry wells!!! this will be possibly the last purchase for a long time as i have too many projects started so need to finish some lol. This will be a light runner and 90% shelf dweller.. off work with a slipped disc so having something to admire distracts me from the blooming awful pain. Cheers james
