description  Took my TT01R type E Datsun Rally out for a spin and took some action pics. This is my favorite Rally body Tamiya Has done to date, I like the red livery and the Short wheelbase. Anyway of the 100 or so pics I took while driving in the horse corral today I picked 10 that came out good to share. Thanks for looking.

Your photos make it look like the 1:1 especially #4. I was so pleased when I saw that Tamiya had released the Datsun 240 Rally version. Long admired your workmanship, I always look forward to your next model.

pretty much...but they mostly eat grass so it makes a nice dirt mixture that is high grip and soft, but it stinks when it rains even after no horses on it for a year so i don't tend to drive in this spot when its wet

glad you guys like the pictures...this environment is really after all where the horses went to the bathroom although it has been empty for a year or so but a lot of that dust is dried horse manure

wow, so beautifull. An old skool rally car in a great environment, it doesnt get better, does it? Such a nice build with all those lights. On pic 10 it feels like its racing fast and lonely in Kenia long time ago when I was just born

I had a rear drive rally car many years ago where I used a TA02 and removed all the drive gear from front case , plugged the driveshaft hole and it worked great but an M03 or ff02 could work great if flipped mmm

hmmm... I'm thinking RWD conversion on a M-03 chassis with this bodyshell sounds like a good idea at the mo! Excellent work on the pics and car!

I'd say next to the 935..this is my favorite style body and look..seriously... I like that much...classic. I'm in the middle of building the 1/12 model kit with race team...

Super photography, and loving the drilled hummer wheels!

Wyoming  28/04/2012 04:55:16
Thanks guys, still have the Vajra Chris just not the body or wheels, its one of my custom projects As for the TT01r chassis its totally stock since the horse corral I run in is totally flat with very few bumps that hinder the ground clearance and the chassis might get changed later if I can find or build a proper rear drive chassis for it. I did have a DF03ra for awhile but wasn't happy with it, the battery became impossible to remove without a screwdriver or strong knife and rocks always got in the rear wheels making it lock and spin out at nearly every corner so I've personally had much better luck using this car that says on-road use only on the box Although I may look into modding it a bit now, thanks for the tips.

Great photos, especially the first one. Since you went for a TT01R Type E instead of a DF03Ra, did you cut the bumper mounts to let the suspension arms droop more? Cutting the mounts, moving the dampers to the outer holes, and using softer springs will help quite a bit with ground clearance...

Crash Cramer  28/04/2012 04:33:09
Awesome shots as usual, you can make just about any Tamiya look great. IT is a shame you didn't keep that Vajera or whatever its name was so you could have painted it up and taken some great shots of it and Tamiya would have to both pay you and thank you for making more of the trucks sell due to your awesome PR skills. BTW, that comment 'Shrubbery' just doesn't cut it, more like 'Who the (*&%' put that cactus in the road!!!'
