| description | A few years ago I had a mint original Bear Hawk runner (featured in the Tamiya T101 videos) Anyways I decided to sell it and I sold it on ebay for somat like £150 (yep thats right) Anyways as is usually the case a boat load get listed on ebay when ever a high price is reached (or it used to before all this reissue lark) and rite enough at the time ebay was flooded with Bear Hawks. So what to do with that money in my paypal account but buy another and I won this for I think £15 as a non runner.
When it arrived it was clear why it was a non runner as the gearbox was empty !!! oh well at £15 I wasn't going to complain.I ordered a set of new gears from a well know and frequent seller of Tamiya bits and bobs on ebay but the wrong gears came / he refused to take them back unless I posted and despite promises he would refund my postage guess what ? did he eckers like !! (oh well never bought owt from him since)Did get the correct gears eventually and to be honest i'd lost heart with the car then and it just got dumped in a corner.
Decided to have a another go with it but try somat differant. Used 3 Racing shocks which give a little lift (used these on my last Bear Hawk and really impressed with em) The front shock tower was broken so fabricated an Astute one, fitted adjustable suspension arms front and rear / and CVJ driveshafts for rear from a Thundershot. And then set about the body.
Body is standard however I have lowered it onto chassis by about 5mm to give a lower stance, if i'd have had time I would have made sides deeper and the front nose deeper. Removed front bumper (was going to fit an ally one but opted for the no bumper look) Then painted in my own scheme using my Frog as inspiration for the colours. Finally fitted a Super Stock motor and Chrome Carson wheel set. Overall i'm really pleased and glad I finally finished it even if it did take a long while in the end...

Looks very nice. The Bear Hawk must be one of the best looking buggies from that era.
