description  Seeing as the last one of these went down well I though I'd line up three more models of the same vintage that would have competed against each other on the track. All are 4WD, the Hotshot is shaft driven, the Optima is chain driven (although mine has the belt upgrade) and the Zerda has a dual belt drive (belt from pinion to spur and a belt from the rear diff to the front). The Optima and Zerda has independent suspension on each corner whilst the Hotshot has a monoshock front and rear. As for how successful they were on the track, well the Optima is king here. It's light weight and strong construction must have played a huge part in it's success. I'm led to believe that the Zerda was hard to set up correctly but was a great performer when done so. The poor old Hotshot needed a lot of upgrades to be competitive but probably far and away sold the most. So three models introduced in the same year (1985), all 4WD but each was unique in it's own way. Which one is your favourite? For me the Optima makes the best runner but the Zerda has to be my favourite due to it's interesting engineering and awesome looks. Hope you like the pics.

Awesome line up. The Optima was my first racer and it served me well. I think the Zerda would have fared well also.
