I'm shocked to find out nobody even said a thing last year when we all should have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop, so I decided to share some pictures of the real car and celebrate it myself.
The XC chassis not only is one of the most exciting and commercially successful offroaders ever made by Tamiya, but it also have survived the last two decades in the hobby stores worldwide, and it is still sold topped with how many, ten different body shells?
I even remember this chassis, on its Jeep Wrangler variation, was awarded back in 1995 by RCCarAction Magazine and it became the RC model of the year. Not many Tamiyas achieved a comparable success in the industry, and so far nobody seems to care about these awesome scale models. So here I am celebrating the mighty Mitsubshi Pajero with some pictures of real cars that are for sale here in my country, and some others I found in the net.
By the way, in my country this specific model was sold as ''Montero''. There are curious rumors about the reasons for that, because ''Pajero'' is a rather hard badword in here. Sorry folks, can not write more about such thing here in TC.
You all have a MEGA weekend! :)
If you liked those pictures, you should see these...

There you go, many colors to try when restoring your vintage vehicles or trying the newer re-res!

the 1:1's are really common over here with our lax import laws, the 1/10 wheels are also a common sight on these 1:1's too. Heh, It could be worse... it could have been called the Mitsubishi Puto

I've always wanted to turn one of mine into a Montero
Crash Cramer
We also got the Montero here in the states, just not a 2 door version with round headlights. I am digging that blind spot mirror too, neat addition. Thanks for finding yet another reason to party Erich.

@Crash Cramer: Yes, we all should be partying tonight for what is one of the most important chassis in the history of Tamiya, and even the history of RCing as a hobby. The XC chassis is a true milestone for Tamiya and has helped it to maintain their prestige more than any other model you can think of. So... happy birthday XC chassis!! Haha
