March 2014: Inspired by Bigoggy's charity build thread, I contacted him to see if he had a driver in mind for the car, and was delighted when he said he'd leave it up to me to come up with a theme for a Willy derivative...

Because of the likely limited space in the WildOne/Grasshopper hybrid, fortunately I already had a 3/4 length Willy torso (no boots) that I thought would be perfect for the dimensions, so painted him up in dirty overalls, and rummaging through my sticker collection, came across these retro Permatex logos, that I thought particularly appropriate for a bitza car that was going to be glued and bonded and gasketed together!

I decided that a classic (full face) Willy head would work best with the the race-suit look, but added some 1/6th scale goggles to further enhance the retro feel...

I also elected to glue the steering wheel between his hand and knees, to save having to mount that separately in the vehicle itself.

I hope you like him! - and if you get a chance, please show your support for Bigoggy's project in the General Discussions section of the forum!

Really nice idea and paint
Can I ask where did you find the goggles?
Cheers

Hi the-way! Sure - the goggles are actually 1/6th scale items (think Action Man size), but work well on Willy's giant head! I just searched '1/6th scale goggles' on ebay and found these (at the bargain price of £1.49!) - but there are plenty of other options too if you fancy something a bit different?

That is very cool. Instead of heel and toe driving, this Willy will be knee and palm driving.
