So I finally took the time to transform my fire dragon into one of my favourite Tamiya models, the Terra Scorcher. I was meant to paint the new body that I got, but since I all ready have a good vintage body I thought it would be a waist not to use it. Great sourvivor look.
Lookin' pretty sweet there buddy. As you may know I too love the Terra Scorcher and we go way back. Seeing yours brings me back memories, now time to restore one! LOL
Thanks! I have only tried a thundershot back in the days when it was first released, remember it was a nice car to drive. It was my friends car, so didn't run it that much. I do have allot of used parts, so I could put together a runner, but it will have to wait. hehe sunnyjai, yeah good memories make you the craziest things, so go get one your TS and restore it
I shall, I shall! These kits even with these plastic CVA's handled better than the 79' Avantes, I can vouch for that since I raced with mates Kyosho Optima Mid's, Lazer ZX's of the period and it held up pretty well. Only let downs were the fragile B5 lower suspension brace would break under a small front end shunt or an over enthusiastic jump and in doing so you'd have to buy the whole B-Parts tree! Nowadays if you wanted to race one can purchase that part online from Pargu2000. Back in the days parts were hard to find in Malaysia after 1990.
I didn't know that they were so good, that they managed to keep up with those cars, that's cool.
Yeah that part was broken when I bought this car, but to my luck a new one came with the car. If I ever make a runner I will for sure get one of the alu replacements parts, can't afford to break the original part.
Yes the TS was a good kit! Fully loaded she was still lighter than the Avante. Though the drive train wasn't as refined using the old school HotShot 0.8 module gears so she would whine pretty loud when I used the DynaTech 01R motor - super quick but loud!
