OK, this beast is now in 'Evo IV' configuration. If you want the full story, then check out 'Evo I', 'Evo II' and 'Evo III' in my showroom.

Here is the build tread for Evo IV:
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75570

The following has been done since Evo III:
-Thorp diff in the rear
-DF03 universal shafts in the rear. Customized in order to fit the Thorp outdrives which are larger.
-Geared down from 13T to 12T (it smoked the 19T motors with 13T). I made a fine adjustment gear mesh setting solution using a hand made aluminium plate inside the gearbox.
-Free'd up the drivetrain by using metal shielded bearings only
-Moved the rear wing back and mounted it on the rear shock tower. The goal was more stability and better look on track. I'd say it worked according to plan!
-New wheels & tires (new regulations - Mini Pin now)

Laptimes from NVC #4 (me driving all of them):
2WD Classic: 13.7 (RC10 Classic)
4WD Classic: 13.1 (Hotshot)
2WD: 13.5 (Dyna Storm)
4WD: 12.8 (Top Force)

So only 3 tenths slower than a Top Force with 13.5 brushless. The HS is running 19T brushed. And faster than a pretty modern 2WD with 17.5 brushless.

It's kinda interesting to compare these laptimes with the previous race and the Evo III:
2WD Classic: 14.3
4WD Classic: 14.4
2WD: 13.8
4WD: 13.0

Clearly a massive improvement in performance!

Happy indeed! And finally the result it deserves! I've used this car in the Nordic Vintage Challenge 3 times before - and it's had the potential but there's always been DNFs...

Feedback is always welcome! Oh, and there will of course be an Evo V - we never rest! :-)

1 Success at last! 1 Nice stance with the wing further back! 1 1 1 oOple forever! 1 Pred X11 wing in the front 1 Losi XX4 wing mount 1 The gearbox mod 3 Was unsure about this, but it worked! Podium

I love this!! Amazed at how fast the RC10 is too

Yes I agree, the RC10 is an incredibly fast car, solid and easy to drive too! I put on 30 degs caster blocks, blue front springs cut down 1 turn, red rear springs - it's spot on and boy was it ahead of it's time!

You know, if you were a bit shorter, I would swear that was Lewis Hamilton on the podium with his hair changing act about a month ago. I mean that guy in 2nd sure looks a LOT like Nico. I AM KIDDING You know.

Wow, great Mods that will inspire me to modify my Super Hotshot for the vintage race here in the USA which the 2nd place guy attended this year!! I saw him there...lol!

Congrats on the win! I've kept an eye on your Evo versions over the years, and love the functional yet aesthetically pleasing 'hotrod' mods you've made.

Thank you so much for your kind words guys! It's really nice to know that it can inspire more people to modify and race this car. I had so much fun with my Supershot as a kid in the 80s and I always felt it had a lot of untapped potential - which I feel I've proven now, the car is totally in a league of it's own in the 4WD Classic class. For the next NVC race I plan on taking on a HUGE challenge in the 2WD Classic class - making a 2WD Hotshot. Considering how hard it'll be to challenge a RC10 Classic I will name the car 'The Longshot'

This is an incredibly beautiful Hotshot, as for the 2wd classic class it would be great to see you tackle a Fox.

Thx! I have an original Fox, but that'd be too easy And I'm a Hotshot kinda guy
