Optima mid, Mint condition period electronics installed.
OK time for a brand change here is my very rare Kyosho optima mid. This is a true racing classic I purchased this complete car with period futaba electronics from eBay.
The deal also included all the paperwork and boxs this is in new condition not even seen a surface to run on. In its day it was a serious championship contender the precision on parts and build quality is off the scale and far exceeds many of the other manufactures at the time. You can see how kyosho concentrated on the racing side of things which left Tamiya far behind. Back then I was totally into realistic body shells and not speed as the racing models were far beyond my price range. But even so I never really liked the kyosho range when I was a teen! my word how things change when you get older.
The Kyosho Optima mid, a racing champion classic
Perfect build which led to a perfect racing rc car in my top 10 of classics.

Great looking Optima Mid. They Mid buggies are some of the most beautiful buggies ever made in my opinion. It doesn't make it worse, that they are great racers. I love my two Mids, and they among the few buggies in a vitrine in the livingroom 😍

Klausen thanks for the comment, when you invite a buggy into the living room then it is indeed very special model! A very difficult choice to make and what ever we individual choose its even better when another member feels the same. This one is waiting on a new cabinet then it too will be on view in a more populated area of the house joining a few other worthy legends. ☺ lol

Thanks emspjay for the comment, It was only in the last year or so I really have taken to the Kyosho range. Some of the early models were just dreadful especially when they were developing monster trucks and realistic vehicle models trying to compete with Tamiya. Still even these have a place in rc history.

Aaah I remember back in 89' when my best friend had this, very nice kit and I especially loved the Option House Gold Shocks (which I bought and fitted to my then Terra Scorcher). Was my TS's arch nemesis but in a way (forgive me guys for what i'm about to say) no Tamiya of the day including the Avante (for which I lusted for so much) was no match for. You have pretty much secured a real gem!
