This super champ came from Japan from a great seller, I wanted a totally original car to start with and this was perfect for my project. It came with the original nylon ties still attached and battery, receiver straps all parts including the spot lights and the original tyres. This model came with the black moulded body which has seen very little use, When I got the vehicle I had a paint finish in mind which gave me the drive to obtain this model and add it too my collection. The model was totally stripped down and washed and cleaned, the gears have no wear what so ever and there are no scuffs underneath confirming that the model has seen hardly any use. It has the original tyres from new with no cracking a added bonus and for the purest a must..
I sourced a new vintage speed controller and added a mint period servo and receiver set, you will also see original Tamiya bloon set with came from a frog parts bag which I was lucky to have from a friend. The body set is a rerelease as I have kept the original as it is, The paint finish is based on a seventy's colour scheme also the decals are original and are from a m38. Added is a Willy's wheeler driver in a bespoke air brushed finish. At this point must mention sayroll for his inspiration. The wheels are alloys which finish the model off with a touch of class. From start to finish it took 30 days and was a fun and rewarding car to compete. The super champ really is a interesting Tamiya model and has some very clever design features and truly deserves its place in my collection. I hope you enjoy the pics and any feed back will be welcome.

That rig would fit right in with some of Wyoming's gear. Nice retro styling on the color. I guess I had not remembered there were molded black versions of the SC body, learn something new everyday.

Thanks guys for you great feed back, I can see a lot of members really appreciate custom paint finishes, which makes me feel I will have to add another classic RC legend and ad a extra pinpoint touch to it...... 😉
