Not many about in TG10 format

Originally Tamiya only ever issued the 99 Subaru body on the TG-10 chassis. This means that nowadays there aren't many about and replacement bodies have been almost impossible to find. I found a NIB bodyset in Japan and as soon as I got it home I found this partly finished TG-10 kit.



The body had been really badly cut out and had a small split so I wasn't sure that I could save it. It came with no decals but the body came with the wing. I found a set of decals in Germany. With some care it has come out ok, saving my NIB bodyset from being opened.



The chassis is a basic TG-10 with an undercowl and wet air filter so it was stripped cleaned and rebuilt. The FS-12LT engine also had a good clean and service.



Role forward to 2016 and Tamiya has now released the body on the TT-02 chassis as 58631, a great opportunity for more of these TG-10 to be restored.
