Rebuilt Shelfer Supershot
I found out recently that my shelfer Supershot had re-re wheels and although the gearboxes were vintage they were a later vintage version introduced after the Supershot (Boomerang/Bigwig/etc). Luckily I had a NIP G-parts that were the correct variant and a set of NIP original wheels. Completely rebuilt it and very happy with the result.
Acually since the link below which was before I really understood the re-re thing I'd applied Super Hotshot decals to the original body and replaced with genuine vintage Supershot ones. As of now it's 100% vintage original down to the tires and screws.

Absolutely spot on. Another fantastic vintage showroom entry.

Thanks guys! The only issue I'm having with it currently, since it's been a year or so since I did the body, is the decals lifting off in some places. Kontemax suggested using a bit of clear nailpolish to stick them back down. Someone else suggested double-sided tape. I'm reluctant on the tape side. Also I wonder if once I have them firmly reapplied I should do a coat or two of PS clear to keep them in place. I've heard of some people swearing by that and others who don't do it.

I've got the same issue with my original decals, mainly on the red stripes. Did think about replacing just the stripes with re-re ones but reluctant to remove originals from an original body set which cost a fortune at the time! Would be glad to hear if you have success with either method.

Great restoration! I love my all original light runner Super Shot. I just got it all cleaned up again after the last time I ran it.

Thanks fellas! I am quite pleased with it. I'm also in the process of revamping some other members of the -shot series so I'll be posting pics of those soon as well. I'd been neglecting my showroom for awhile.
