New gearbox casing for Kyosho Pathfinder
Well my 3D printed gearbox turned up today, exspensive but looks nice, Adam assures me it's ok to run with dry lube as it's not oiltight, I checked it with water and sure enough it seeps through. I would like to run it with oil so I have sealed the inside with two coats of a enamel based fuel proofer, hope this works, got to let it cure for two days before I can use it.

Really nice, wish we had this level of quality here in my home town.
TG MAN
your cv 12 look really good more with the head polished and the engine case in original red
TG MAN
for the rest of red on the head engine fin , you can use sodium hydroxide solution mixed with hot water and a tooth brush

Thanks TG MAN, yes I may leave it orange, I used paint stripper on the head, came up better than I thought. I filled the gearbox casing with water and it does not leak now so two coats of fuel proofer done the trick. I had a few issues getting the bog together, the 16mm output hole in the casing was out of round so could not get the two halfs together, I had to machine the bearing casing down to 15.75 diameter now it's ok, also had to shim out the oil thrower as had so much end float, then there was one of the holes not drilled right through that join the two halfs, I will also have to fill it with oil before I join it together as there is no oil way between the front and rear part of case, but saying all that it's still a nice piece of kit.
