The Baja Champ never caught my eye. It came to me in the same transaction as my King Blackfoot. (to see my King Blackfoot click the link below)
When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised and saw it immediately as the nice buggy it is. A bit like the Blazing Star my nephew had. They go unnoticed at first but are really fine little buggy's in the end. Of course it arrived with only a bad copy of the manual and no electronics but a stripped-out steering servo. So the usual routine began: completely dismantle it, clean, lubricate and put it back together.
Figured the old Kyosho Optima wheels would fit it well and as they came with the sponge Good Year's they were assembled like that. Decided to keep the friction shocks and put in an MSC. Yes, I know most of you think the MSC belongs in the bin but I had never one that failed me and I do recall the untimely passing of more than one ESC. Maybe I'm just old school?
Planned to put in a Jimi Hendrickx lookalike as a driver but the car was sold before that happened.
