Another body that usually comes pre-drilled, but is available without if you do a bit of hunting. This has been available un-drilled on two occasions, the first time as a limited Japan only release, I'm not sure when, then again (also limited) as 84234 in 2011. Neither include the stickers, but come with instructions for the red 58128 Nannini/Larini version. I have two of the initial release and one of the 84234, along with the stickers for the red 58128 so will do that at some point.
There’s quite a lot in the way of vents in the front, including the two in the number plate recess, these were tricky as there were no moulded lines to follow. The lexan is very thin around the rear bumper so I reinforced it with some styrene to provide a good base to mount the exhaust bracket on.
The kit version’s wheels are an odd choice - it uses the Celica / Escort two piece which incorrectly for this car have four lug nuts moulded in. I used the similar style one piece wheels with no lug nuts. It’s strange that Tamiya would not supply these in the kit as they are both cheaper and more accurate to the real car.
As is often the case on modern kits, some of the sponsor logos are missing. In this case Shell, Michelin and Magneti Marelli. The latter is strange as they are included with the Martini version of the 155. I reproduced the Shell lettering and the Magneti logos and used stickers from other kits for the Shell logo and Michelin graphics. The Michelin Bibendum isn’t in the correct pose but it’s as close as I could find.
I’ve done cars without any stickers for lights before, but this is the furthest I’ve gone yet. The head and tail lights use Killerbody light buckets, these are for the newer 1995 155 so fit the later Martini sponsored body perfectly but needed some cutting to fit this one. The rear lights are tinted with translucent red PS spray then fitted with textured Wrap-Up Next stickers which replicates the square pattern of the lights. The side repeaters use the same textured sticker but in orange, with a white vinyl backing and matt black trim. The front lights on the real car have a strange looking lined pattern sticker over them which I was able to replicate a simplified version of from cut vinyl.
Rather than use the supplied stickers, the rear exhaust heat shields are cut from the aluminium tape that comes with some kits. My abilities with styrene prevented me from replicating the distinctive quad upturned exhaust, so I used some Yokomo items instead, sprayed silver instead of the original chrome.
There’s quite a few body lines to do and I could see I was running out of tape so I strategically left the non-driver side until last, knowing I could avoid shooting that angle. I just about had enough to do all the visible bits. Finally, I worked out a method to my image processing to get the orange to look more representative of how it really looks, as straight from the camera it’s too red.

Another masterpiece.
The red Nanini / Larini 155 is the hottest touring car of the lot IMHO so hope you do one of them soon.
