description  I think this is my final Tutorial for the Lunchbox chassis. First of all, credit must go to mymonsterbeetleisbroken (check out this pumpkin - http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=51530&sid=2088 ), hope you don't mind me posting this?! This tutorial assumes that you have oil filled shocks fitted all around.

I used some M3 threaded rod and some ball links (that is what they're called isn't it?).

Stiffening up the front is easy peasy, I used longer m3 bolts when fitting the shock U brackets leaving me with some bolt to attach the rod onto.

I screwed one ball link onto the threaded rod, test fitted it to one suspension bolt and marked where to cut it to length, cut it down and fitted the other ball link and then bolt onto the suspension bolts. If you want to be be really tidy then you can use some tubing (metal like me, or even carbon maybe?).

Fitting the rears isn't as easy, but it's not exactly difficult either When fitting the rear shocks I used longer m3 bolts to hold the shock into the bracket - again lleaving me something to bolt the ball links onto. Then you have to make a hole in the chassis, I don't know what this bit of the chassis is called so check out the photo's and all will be clear! Be careful on the motor side of the chassis, you don't want the motor knocking on the rod when the suspension moves.

It's just a simple case of measuring, cutting and securing again really.

The photos can explain it much better than I can!

Cheers
Pete

That's very true, yep - lead weights from a box of spares I bought - I'm still trying to find the perfect balance to give me wheelies but not too mad!

You forgot to mention your lead weights in the front. Are they lead weights in pic2? Thanks.

No worries, I just collected the ideas up from other peoples showrooms and forum posts and tried to put it in one place for everyone

Many thanks for your great 'how to ' guides' thanks to these my Pumpkin now handles a lot better and wheelies are much more controllable, so thanks again and keep the mods coming

Still having wheelie fun with all the mods, just put a 19 turn in and it's great fun, and doesn't roll so easily now!

Threaded rod came from ebay (searched for 3m threaded rod), and luckily the ball links were in a box of spares I bought Should be available from most LHS though.

Nice mod, looks very well executed. Where have you sourced the threaded bar and ball links from?

Excellent how to guide! Hopefully not so many people will snap the rear deck off of their chassis tubs if they are using oil shocks now. And no, i dont mind you posting this
