| description | Was 95% completed at this stage, fitted with lightweight plastic gears (now dumped due to fragility), aluminium prop (similarly now taken out as the metal gears wont fit the alum propshaft), aluminium king pins, Sport Tuned 540 motor, fully ballraced and alloy motor mount & foam front bumper.
Very nearly sold this recently and now I am so glad it's still here! Great fun to build, though transfers VERY challenging.
Could not match boxart as the wheels in the kit are tarmac-spec items and NOT as would have been used on the Acropolis rally, so used another set which I liked the look of,even if not correct,Tamiya just dont make the correct wheels. Unfortunately with the front splitter trimmed to match the Acropolis car there is not enough room for the large 'Endless' sticker to fit beneath the front radiator intake, this is due to Tamiya not moulding the shell with a deep enough recess for the aperture....so put it above!! not right I know, but Tamiya did not bother with the correct roof vent or double door mirrors, so what the heck!
Made inner wheelwells/arches and may add mudflaps, possibly some underguards as well just to give some additional protection to the rear suspension. Hopefully the fairly tame motor won' t fry everything under the chassis dust cover (as used to happen to the 12 turn motors in my TB01 Lancer), may have to add a fan and ducting from the front grille though.

Tamiya PS-16 Metallic Blue. Five coats and then a final coat of Black to stop daylight shining through, also gives a nice crisp blue.
Nice car. What colour do you use to paint this body? My arai body needs re-painting, but I don't know paint numer.
Wonderfully lookin motor - Can't wait to see it finished
Sounds interesting!! where are you planning for the Rally??
You've done a great job on this mate! May i invite you to the WRC Rally SIG?
