description

The Kawada Tripmate is a Tamtech-like car that was available in Japan. It has fully adjustable length, wheelbase, and width. The body is made from clear lexan. Battery and charger are included. Although the Japanese 100V AC charger won't work here in the Netherlands, I can charge the battery using my Tamtech charger.

I've now built the car. I installed the only two worthwhile options: ballbearings, and the 'special axle set' which replaces the original front axles with easier to use axles onto which the wheels attach using a nut.

I painted the shell yellow, using the window stickers as paint masks as told by Kawada in the instructions. Sadly, the window edge stickers don't fit too well. The quality of the stickers is not too good - they are thick and don't really stick well. I added detail by using Micron Line Tape on the body panel lines. Just need some small-scale car electronics to get her going.
