| description | This is my 1991 Z28 Camaro convertible. Another one of my “kids”. This car became my daily driver in the late 90’s. It has since been retired as daily driver, but does get me to work at least once a week in the summer months.
For the most part, this car remains stock. It has a few mods, but I am hesitant to do too much to it, as it is not too common. Out of the +100,000 Camaros produced in 1991, there where only about 3,000 convertible Z28’s. Granted, that is still a fairly large number, only another handful of them were 5-speed manuals, like this one. This car wasn’t my first, but it can still tell some stories. It is a really fun car to drive and isn’t too terrible on gas either.
These convertible Camaros left the GM assembly line as T-Top models. They were then sent to a California company called ASC (American Sunroof Corp) to have the conversion manually performed, before being shipped to the car dealers, for retail sale.
Basic onfo; 305 TPI, Hypertech PROM, SVO fuel injectors, TBI airfoil, K&N air filters, Edelbrock 3-inch cat-back exhaust system, Hotchkis rear track-bar, 3:73 gears
The model is a 1:24 scale that was originally a coupe. I chopped the top off and made a panel for the rear deck area. I built this model about 10years ago.
