| description | The original pivots design and wear meant my front wishbones were really loose and tended to 'flop' about a fair bit. I gave dimensions to a mate of mine (Rob at GB Models) who turned up a pair out of aluminium.. all it took was a bit of a polish and they fitted nicely in the wishbones.
Its taken me a while to pluck up courage to hack a bit more off my chassis, that was until a few glasses of Belgian courage tonight. Out came the hacksaw and off came the original pivots, a 3mm hole was then drilled through chassis and the aluminium pivots were screwed on. Refitted the wishbones and gone has most of the flop. Success I say.. so whats next on my list!
Have tested this mod and its improved the car 100% or more, the steering and suspension work so much better.

Looks cool and it looks like the second photo might have been snapped after said Belgian courage was drank.
Your right there Terry, theres a long list of bits from other cars (including part of a bumper from a King Blackfoot, makes a nice front shock tower)
Not much left of the Sand Rover now Rich. In the days when I raced one the trick at the time was to drill a hole through the arm and pivot, then use a bolt with a large washer to pull the arm in tight to the end of the pivot. With a locknut on the end of the bolt it could be tightened up just enough to provide a degree of damping to the front suspension as well.
very nice!! i think you may get a few requests for these!!!
