Hi Fellas,
took me some time, but here's my finished Custom Ranger.
It took me over a week to paint it. I have never put so much time and patience (which is the hardest part for me!) into a body before. I'm going to spare you all the details, but I'm really happy with the result and think it blends in well with the chassis. The colors used are TS-19 blue metallic, TS-17 gloss aluminium and TS-13 clear. Turn signals and rear lights were painted clear orange and red over silver paint.
The decals are the great Tamiyaclub (silver) repros. I wanted to achieve boxart look, but changed some decals here and there after my own liking. I have a driver figure for it, but the paint job went bad. I might add it later after redoing it.
Many thanks go out to Rad for providing the awesome alloy parts (Hmm, it does look a bit like your runner Ranger...) and many others who gave parts and inspiration to make this possible. Hope you all like it! :-)

That's gorgeous, well worth the time you spent. Most of these never got painted at all because the body was blue, let alone get a brilliant finish like yours

Stunning job on the paint. You see, a bit of paitience goes a long way. I am currently using the same techniques on my pajero for the light painting. I hope it comes out as good as this.

That is a stunner, nice work, bore us with the details. Perhaps some in process photos of the painting. I love watching paint dry.
Dante77
Crash, unfortunately I forgot to take some pics during the process. If you follow the link at the bottom, you can see how the body looked before. Everything else was: filling, sanding, primer, sanding, two coats of silver, masking, two coats of blue, wetsand, painting the details, clearcote, wetsand, clearcote, wetsand, polish to mirror finish. Then decals. Done.

Only recently came across this beauty Christian - but soo glad I have - Its Gorgeous . So sad that some of our master craftsmen like Rad and J-Man are no longer around but at least we have and can appreciate some of their amazing work . Stunning

Very true! Thanks, Doc!
Working on a restoration of my own srb F150. I love your pictures and so many other things about what you did with it. I've been putting together my parts list and stockpiling what I need. I read in your description that there was some Tamia Club decals that you used. Is there a way you can give me any information that may help put me on the right track to locating a fresh set. I'm new to the club here so I really don't know my way around. Again thanks so much and I love what you did.
Dante77
Thanks, mate!
Due to copyright reasons the repro decals are no longer available on Tamiyaclub.
