Frog Scorcher - part 3
December 2009: I think all the debate on the forum regarding the re-re Scorcher wheel arches has affected me! So I decided to take the dremil to the 'FroSco' and chop the arches - lets face it, despite getting a set of skinny front tyres, this hybrid is never going to be a Scorcher anyway, so I'd rather make something more personal and unique...
Talking of tyres - I didn't realise how much smaller (diameter) the Sand Scorcher/Frog front tyres are (compared to the Brat tyres) - they look puny! Although I'm loving the spiky Frog rear tyres... so part of the reason for chopping the front arches was to lower the front end (had to chop part of the chassis overrider too) to get that more in proportion - but it has of course exaggerated the rear being jacked up now... still, it needs all that clearance for the suspension travel of course! btw. Can anyone tell me if the Rough Rider front tyres are larger diameter than the Scorcher tyres? Jx
Curved front wings Chopped rear wings, spiky tyres Nose heavy? Filled, sanded, and primed Arches trimmed front and rear Time for some colour! Masked for painting - I decided to go two-tone Fingers crossed it's going to work! Turned out nice - a few bleed lines Time to get on with the detailing now!

Yes, the RR tires are slightly taller than the std scorcher tires.

I think the RR fronts have a larger inner diameter. Looks good so far!

Very nice job on that nose cone, looks pretty awesome from behind after you chopped the rear wings.

Frog/Scorcher rims are 1.5' and RR Buggy Champ rims are 1.75' if I recall correctly. I'm not sure on outside tire diameter though.
