description  This is my next long term scale truck project, I am doing a complete build thread on scale4x4rc (for a scale pickup build contest) but I wanted to at least show some build shots here to give ideas and I will definately have lots of action and outdoor shots later. I looked very hard at buying an original Hilux but I would have ended up changing it so much It worked better for my tastes to start with an Rc4wd Bruiseruptor scale truck chassis and modify it to work for my needs. I am going to build a flat bed ranch working truck with full interior and driver but here is my first shots and rough mock-ups.

Thanks guys, the rear cab back is made by Reign RC, it saved me a lot of building time and is nicely machined to fit the Hilux with minimal filling.

yep, that looks awesome. you will get better performance with them mounted like that in the rear as well.also, i forgot to mention that i used the stock bruiser shocks on my brawler, i just painted them white

Thanks guys I went digging in my junk and found 4 rc4wd scale shocks and removed the springs and built a little bracket to center them in rear, wow you guys are right much softer, I'll polish them later to get rid of threads and blue anodizing, or try SRB shocks etc. Thanks guys, Added some pics

Seth, you can use the Tamiya SRB re-release shocks, they are smaller and I see them on ebay all the time cheap.

Thanks guys, yeahthe rear shocks will have to go and get relocated to make room for bed anyway, but I don't know of any thinner shocks, that are not turned on a lathe anyway C?

looks awesome seth,i can already tell this will be one of my favorite trucks. having the motor/tranny over the front axle really gives a great feel and driving realism. one thought, since you are running leafs, i would suggest using a more scale shock without internal springs that are thinner. hope you have a wonderful christmas buddy
