Well... I eluded to it in my other showroom entry, and in response to fellow TC members interest, here it is. I added a scale looking snowplow to my Bruiser Wrecker, modeled after a product one of my customers 'Meyer' manufactures. This turned out looking pretty scale, but also works very well in actual use. Most is made from styrene (my material of choice) and holds up real well to the serious draw bar force the Bruiser can throw at it. The springs function as a real life 'trip' feature to protect the assembly from shock loading due to curbs, uneven surfaces and stray cats :-) . I used the 4th channel on my Futaba conquest to run a servo for raising and lowering the plow and is detailed in one of the pics. The pivot feature however has to be done by hand and can be easily reset in 5 different positions without tools. The geometry of the design was probably the hardest to work out with things moving on 3 axis, plus the hydraulic rams needed to work in all positions, but I worked it out.

The strobe bar on the truck is new as are the Geolanders and some other minor body details.

It's a lot of fun - plowing my driveway from the comfort of my living room, and a 3000Ah NiMh battery last plenty long to get the job done. Snow needs to be cold and not more than a couple of inches deep and I use rear wheel hubs all around to guarantee 4x4 in fwd & rev.

I hope to be able to post a video of some action in the future.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy. Comments are appreciated.

Thanks all for the great comments. It sure is nice to have a place to share these creations. I can't wait to share my next Bruiser creation 'Sand Hog' using the original Bruiser body. Need some Michigan summer sand dune weather for scale pics first though.

3SPD REKR, this is basically a bruiser. you gotta make another showroom and put it in as a bruiser not misc. this will allow us to tamiya 101 your model. I bet you would win top prise this month. You cant just change this room, you got to make a new one. the plow shots are great.

Simply amazing. When you get tired of plowing snow, you can come down to Texas and get a LOT of mud on your truck and stay warm.

Hey, What did you use to light up the turn signals in that Clod grill? they look great! is it a piece of plexi?

3SPD REKR

8-Jan-2010

Thanks, Tim.
The parking/turn grill lenses are simply cut from clear styrene sheet, roughed up a bit to give them an opaque look. Cutting the grill up was a big decision, but I'm glad I did it.
Just put a small vid of the lights in my showroom.
