| description | If memory serves, Radek was desperate to get his hands on one of my Hiluxes (wahay!) and we used to meet regularly when I lived in the UK. Ironically, Radek hails from Czech, but lives in the UK and I hail from the UK but live in Czech We have been friends for years and I always used to do deals with him. Many of the cars he has restored actually started life with me (not all, but many of his showroom entries over the last years started life with me, some of them the condition was poor, but he still managed to do a superb job in restoring them)
Regarding this car, I think I got this, a Supershot, a Porsche 959 and a Celica in trade for a Hilux and something else, although I am not sure (perhaps Radek will remember and pipe up?). This model Radek described as a restoration, but it is a new build that got a little tatty over the years and Radek cleaned it up sparing no expense I am sure! It is 100% original (it was restored pre re issue) except for the wheels. I have the originals bagged up with the original tyres (white wheels, not gold), but display it with my own specially made gold plated wheels (seconds actually) and re issue tyres (who cares about flat spots now?) and it shows very well. It has most electrics installed and could run if I wanted too, but I have a re issue and another original Hotshot runner which was also described to me as a new build on the eBay advert (pre seller feedback changes) and in fact isn't a new build... The Hotshot was a special car for Tamiya, it was their first 4WD buggy, in fact their first 4WD plastic model (the 3 speeds had big metal gearboxes) and a really modern car at the time. The Hotshot used 2 dampers, both mounted horizontally and some found this unsatisfactory. The later Supershot is a pimped up Hotshot (including Gold wheels for looks, but also a Technipower motor, 4 dampers, ball races etc)
This model also has a Technigold motor installed, which is my preferred motor.
I personally prefer to run a Boomerang with a Technigold, full ball races (including thrust bearings) and Bigwig front shocks than either of the other Hotshot series, including the Supershot, but that is just my personal preference.

Thanks guys! It is nice to hear such positive feedback
Your seconds don't even flake like the originals and their gold color is more deeper and realist. I like my Chrome seconds and hope to get them on a car this year.
Nice Hotshot, Paul !
Box art wheels. Looks fantastic
