description  Just had to get one of these, the first Tamiya kit for over 10 years that has got me excited enough to buy one new - and that includes all the buggy rereleases. Can never figure out why vintage r/c fans get so excited about Tamiya rereleasing the old buggies when you can pick up original runners for less, and thought the F104 overpriced, so I haven't even looked at any other new Tamiya kit.

It was announced at the Shizuoka show last November, but I guess most people were blinded by the pictures of the Scorcher so this and the Datsun 240Z seem to have gone by unnoticed, and they didn't get talked about much in the TC forums either.

The recent resurgence of F1s in the UK has got me excited about racing again, and having seen the pictures of this I just had to get one when they were released. The 14 part lexan body looks amazing, assembling the body takes 6 pages of the manual and I can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer so I can do the body justice.

Just need to get a set of the foam tyres for it before it will be ready for the track.

Personally I don't care about limited releases. Why would I appreciate something more because less people (can) have one? It's a thing of beauty and should be widely available! Saying that, I just ordered one because I don’t want to be the first-lad-stuck-without!

Hello Terry I couldn't agree with you more!! Really hate all those NOT ORIGINAL re-releases......Tamiya should do what they are good at; making beautiful kits which are interesting for 30-40 year old collectors like most of us are. Thought the annivesary 934 was a good idea, but I might like this one even better! RESPECT.....Really great find!! Think I will try to get one too.

Thanks for the info. I found one on eBay and it was going for something like $283 with shipping to the US from Japan.

TamiyaUSA still has it listed as (Coming soon). So does that mean they will start selling them in the US? - [Click here]

WW-nut, nothing in the rules say a car must only have 4 wheels. Although the problem with F1s is rear end grip so the extra wheels and weight aren't going to improve performance. Got a 3Racing F109 for the serious racing!

They were released on 9 January, it's a Japan only limited release and it's hard to find anywhere as most shops sold out all their preorders and there's no more once they are gone. I believe Hobbylink Japan have some left in stock at the moment, but they are the most expensive and aren't main r/c car sellers. Street price is around $200 for it.

I didn't realise they re-released the P34. It sounds like my original P34 body was easier to put together than the new one. It's good to see TC members buying these re-released models. Keeps Tamiya in business, and keeps our hobbies going ...

6 pages for just the body! Wow, I thought it would be pretty simple being just blue, LOL.

Terry can these race against 4 wheel F1 rc cars on an equal level, as doesn't this have better cornering ability?

Maybe the decals will not appear as fluorescent when back with blue? Now I want one as I am not a fan of hard bodies!
