Re-Re Sand Scorcher Project part 1 front suspension
Between work and family theres hardly any time to build, so my wife took her and the kids to the mother-in-laws for the night just so I could start my build. (thanks Mrs SRB Bloke) I've had so many ideas for this project since it arrived, so I was over the moon to be starting it. I've got big ideas for shell and interior (hope they look ok). Anyway the front suspension is finished it took ages to get mirror finish on ali parts. I hope to get the rear done by the end of the month. See what you think of the work so far.. thanks

By the looks of this I think you should get the missus out of the house moore often ( dont tell her I said this )
Cant wait to see this finished . Beautiful !!

Thanks guys for your comments, It takes loads of work to get that shiny finish, now I feel its worth it. @swedishwiking rough up the dampers first then primered and 3 top coats, all car paints.

Man, that looks really nice. Good details! I can't even imagine how long that took to polish those things.... I'd love to do the same, but don't have the tools to do such polishing. Just a dremel. Nice job! Can't wait to see the finished product! You'll probably never drive it because it will be so nice!

Lovely stuff mate; well done! I know what you mean about work and family

Very nice work there SRB Bloke. I've read some of your comments on mine & other peoples projects, so was waiting to see some posts of your Scorcher. Glad you've now got going. I know once I actually start on a project I find it hard to put down (until finally I have to & get on with everyday stuff, bah) so hopefully you'll be able to come up with lots of excuses to let you finish it now. Good luck & keep us posted.
SRB Bloke
Thanks for all your comments lads, I'm hoping to find the time to start polishing the rear end and it should be ready by the time me 4 new tamiya diffs arrive.... WATCH THIS SPACE !!!

I don't think a lot of people understand how long it takes to polish parts up this good! It takes a lot of patience & hard work! I take my hat of to you & bow down gracefully! I am even considering stripping my nearly finished street scorcher & polishing these parts the same! What methods did you use mate, I am dead impressed!
SRB Bloke
@connor Your right lots of time and patience. Basically all I used was a Dremel, first i'd use a fine nylon wheel to take off the top surface, then flet pads that you keep loading with blue compound polish the more the better, you can't have too much and keep re-loading the felt very regularly. It goes very black but then after a while you start to see the shine. Then finally by hand Autosol polish on lint free cloth. Good luck, your fingers will never be the same again. Be careful the ali get very very hot. At one point the rag I was using to hold one of the rods between the uprights started to burn. But the end result was well worth it. Show us how you get on... Thanks for your comments.

Ahh...SWEET! You simply can't polish your nuts enough in my opinion!
