Tamiya's Stadium Racing car released when the market for stadium racers was at its peak. Loosely based on the Bearhawk chassis the car used a low and wide set up for stability. Oil damped shocks soak up the bumps. Still a popular kit and has had a very long production run.

I set out to buy a blitzer beetle. Always been a fan of Tamiya beetles. However came across the Stadium Blitzer on ebay. It has the usual Tamiya Pedigree, a sturdy bathtub chassis and a strong but simple gearbox. Rear mounted motor (watch out if racing one).
The truck is well balanced and jumps really well, usually landing rear wheels first. The model I have arrived in a sorry state, rusty springs, pins and motor. The receiver was non-functioning. The first few runs I got 2-3 minutes per charge with 2000mah nicads. Not good.....
In went the new ballraces, only done axles so far, need to fit the 4 in the gearbox. Run time is in excess of 5 minutes now. Have lined up a 15x2 Mtroniks motor. And hope to start racing the Stadium Blitzer in 2003.
These trucks are very tough, I killed a pottery plant pot in a flat out headon collision. Not on purpose though, need Specs changing I think!
If you haven't got one, then why not? A great laugh to drive.....
