Last of Tamiya's XC family in kit form (ie. ignoring "expert built"). ABS hardbody offers fantastic detailing opportunities with 'generic' underbody detail boasting independent front suspension and a solid/live rear axle, this is a super-relistic scale RC model. CR-V is unique in that it uses a Long Wheelbase variant of the XC platform - rear axle is located 1" further back to accomodate the longer ABS shell.

Previously, I have already built up Pajero MTW, so this Honda CR-V was my second XC model. Almost all the parts were same as those of Pajero except some flexable plastics replacing former hard one and slight upgrade in suspension system. You should pay attention to screwing those flexable parts, or the holes would accept infinite number of turns The painting job was a little bit more difficult due to some narrow spraying parts. I could also observe some down-grades such as its tires (no goodrich!). As a conclusion, I decided not to drive this one, but to display on the shelf!

I had my CR-V new in it's box for all of three days, then i could stand it no more, so I had to build it!
I am pretty well surrounded by snow as I built the car, so I thought I would go for the locked rear diff option. Good choice, in the slidy conditions it doesn't get stuck, and as there is low grip you can really slide the car around.
I wasn't sure about the suspension set up at first, but after playing around with spring rates a little, the car is just great on semi off road type conditions, instantly becoming one of my favourite cars to drive! Oh and it looks fantastic too.
