The Ranger was the last of the racing buggy chassis cars (with the waterresistant radio crate) and was a poor man's Hilux (58028) at the time . In its own right it's a really great car and very detailed , the grile is a nightmare to paint and decals are impossible to find and the Sand Scorcher / Rough Rider chassis can make chassis spares expensive. My first ever Tamiya car was a Sand Scorcher back in 1983. I thought it was the coolest thing, my friend also got one and we went on baja bug adventures. But then another one of my friends asked if he come bring his car along too, sure thing we said, so he turns up with this pick up thing, and on closer attention seems to be like our Sand Scorcher, but with a Ford Ranger body on top. This thing looked amazing, the detail in the body I think is even better than a Sand Scorcher, and it has the big wheels and tyres all round.
I now own 2 of these cars/trucks, and love the way they look.
