My first Tamiya car was an XR311 back in my early teenage years. I had a picture of the car on my bedroom wall and saved for months, finally I bought it when I was on holiday with my parents. After a lot of play, I sold it for about £20, having discovered pubs. I wish I hadn't done that now!
Now, I'm married, have 4 kids, and have been patiently waiting for one of the lads to ask for an R/C car for their birthday. That finally happened, and I got Matthew a Mad Bull. Had to get myself a car obviously, so I bought a Baja Champ. This was soon followed by a Mad Bull for Michael (one of my other lads).
My collection has now expanded to a fair few Tamiya and non Tamiya models. I have also learnt quite a lot about LED lighting, and have some Tamiya kits which I have rigged up with some pretty special lighting projects.
I'm also a regular racer of 1/10th scale touring cars, Matt (my lad) and I race every Friday at Grays Radio Control Car Club, and I have even got a trophy. Matt has 3 :-)
