Thanks guys :-) My start point is to get the engine sorted, then I'll strip down the chassis, clean and rebuild to include fitting radio gear so it's good to go. As for a body, that'll get left until later though it would be nice to replicate the Konig Merc in the advert above if I can find wheels and body. Current thoughts are to use the merc bodyshell I've got as part of a new built TG10-Pro 49172 I bought recently, which could fit. More (probably much) later!

Amazing amount of parts and a reminder that Chris really has produced some brilliant pieces over the years. I always liked the original scorcher dash, more so that the second version. Wish he’d do another run (he did do a 2nd after all, so why not just once more). Mind you I’ve not seen anything new emerge from REC for a few years....

Great looking model. At first I thought it was the old TA03F (58189)from the late 1990's - hadn't realised the body had appeared again on a more modern chassis. One of my favourites with the Martini livery. Nice Job!

So an update on the muffler issue - acprc identified that I was missing a spacer which would have come with the original conversion kit. Being a loose item, this part was not included with the new built chassis I purchased as it had probably been lost by the original owner. Luckily acprc didn't use the spacer for his MRE build, and I now have it - as pictured (all held in place with matchsticks pending arrival of some very long M3 bolts). That's a major problem now resolved, so I can get on with stripping down the chassis to clean and check all parts before the build.

Beautiful job! Other than body and rider, looks like you’ve replaced almost all the original Kyosho parts. Would be great to have a complete list of all of the parts, some of which (like the carbon chassis) I’ve not seen before.
