Dual motor ta03 suv conversion
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks. It was probably the quickest, easiest and cheapest project I've had so far :) .

Wow! Escellent use of the Tamiya Drift decals. I've got them on my Z-Tune Nismo R34 shell too. I especially like the way you've weaved in your name. Very nice :P

Poor man's scorcher part 2: modifying the chassis
beetleman

Well Done! I'd started on mine Aug 08 but it got sidelined about 6 months later. I'm really glad to see that it was actually 'do'able, y'know? What part did you use for the front suspension posts?

'boxes' competition entry
VagabondStarJXF

 I really couldn't believe how much went wrong for me. I think I'll add more pics once the competition has been and gone just to show what I'd really wanted to do... assuming I can get round to it later!

Project: jenova part 2
VagabondStarJXF

tamiyaonebay - Thanks. I was lucky and managed to get this colour on my first mix. Makes a change from the white I was originally going to go for.
Mongoose1983 - Beach yeah, Racer... probably not! I also think it'll run well on sand thanks to the extra ground clearance but I don't have a beach nearby to try it out :(

Project: jenova part 2
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks guys. It's amazing how different it looks, isn't it?

Should I put some decals on it or leave it as is?

Tamiya decals
tamiyaonebay

Cool aren't they? I got a couple of sets a couple of months ago. Itasha style decals from others? I gotta look out for other ones now. :)

My ta04 bearhawk conversion part 1
VagabondStarJXF

TWINSET - I see what you mean, especially on that shot from the rear.

Tizer - You should so one aswell. Might start a trend if you do! :)

My ta04 bearhawk conversion part 1
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks for the comments and ideas guys. I've not really had any luck finding ABS or PVC pipe in my local DIY stores (B&Q and Homebase) in the past. Anyone know anywhere else?

slimmy - It's a Bearhawk body, cut to size and to allow suspension travel.

I'm still not sure about the bumper although I have got an idea for an alternative. It'll take a lot of work though...

My ta04 bearhawk conversion part 1
VagabondStarJXF

Sayroll - That's probably the best thing you could've said. Your car is awesome. Thanks.

BTW I bought some of the new HPI LP32 tires some time back but they're designed for the matching LP32 wheels so don't fit on these wheels. I guess I could buy some LP wheels too and see how they look.

def4x4 - Thanks dude.

Trevan - My local B&Q's has a Building Centre that stocks drainpipes etc. but they're all the wrong sizes. Wickes I've yet to look at. I'll try to get to one on my next day off.

Home made custom chassis
Leethal Driver

Wow. Is that what you did with the chassis you got from me? Not looking too shabby.

My ta04 bearhawk conversion part 1
VagabondStarJXF

Added a pic with Tamiya 2 piece wheels. Not one of the sets I was going to use but I think it looks good with the unpainted shell. :)

Rough rider part 1
VagabondStarJXF

I will run this SRB but I won't run hard. If the vintage Black Sprint motor works then I'm going to use it in this. If it doesn't then I guess I'm gonna use a standard silver can. I've got a Tamiya hump pack that's all ready to power this SRB but I'm still trying to source an original MSC to go with the rest of the original electronics I've got before I can run it.

About the 10 shells... One is going to be a box art Buggy Champ then the rest is whatever I can come up with at the time. But then I am open to suggestions for new colour schemes if you've got any. :)

Looking good dude. Very nice work.

Just got my first clod!
VagabondStarJXF

Yep. I know what you mean everyone! £5 for it? Normally I miss car boot sales (because I can't get out of bed either :D) but my Mom wanted to get there early so I lucked in when the whole family decided to go aswell.

Funny thing though, I was going to start from the other end of the thing which would've meant that I would've gotten to the NIB Striker instead of this if I had.

But I already have a Striker (although not NIB )

1 Question about my Clod... What's so special about having the Chevy badge on it?

Mud blaster project part 2
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks for the comments everyone.

@ Dante77 - Yep. I'm going Boxart with this shell. I think it'd suit the chassis aswell. I've already got the repro decals from tamiyoman and now I'm waiting until I have the money to buy the paints. If I get another body I'll try doing up something a little more unique.

@ Baggey - Yep. They're aluminum, just can't remember what grade they're made from.

@ mikea96 - I knew these wheels would be great as soon as I started this project. I might get them anodised in the future. What grade aluminum are they?

Monster beetle restoration part 2
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks for the comments everyone. Restoration is a surprisingly expensive thing to do with this chassis so I'm really glad it's turning out so well.

@ BeetleLover - I've had quite a lot of good luck on this project, y'know, finding NIB bits here 'n there. I couldn't believe my luck when I got the white shell, complete with body parts and hardware. I got them just after I'd bought the nose cone for my Blitzer Beetle shell for almost as much coin.

Mud blaster project part 2
VagabondStarJXF

Thanks for letting me know. I'll decide on the anodising once I've got the entire thing done. The only problem is that the wheels look so good as they are! :)
