Tl-01 chassis f150 baja truck [now sold]
JennyMo

Thanks for your kind words everyone! This was my first real project, so was a bit of a testbed... but I was pleased how it turned out. It's great fun running it too - the TL chassis with bigger wheels is surprisingly good off-road! I prefer the scale modeling style, and my next couple of projects will use plastic rather than lexan shells for more realism... I'll keep you posted!

Mirror baja

What an awesome finish! Did you get it coated, or were these shells available in chrome? Love what you did with the chassis too - you almost need another one with a clear body over to show it off!

The stumpkin - part 1
JennyMo

Hi Tuffbug - the original chassis is a Taiyo RC - it was originally 4wd but I removed the prop and front diff, so it was just rwd, and it used to wheelie from a standing start in low range! I'm expecting great things from the WW2 chassis, and am tempted to keep the big wheels on it now as the looks are growning on me? xxx

Frog scorcher - part 1
JennyMo

The front post (from the Brat kit) is the correct hight, although it is a little too far forward really... but I'll just re-drill the hole in the shell and fill the original. Not sure about the rear mounts yet - the existing holes in the rear wings of the Blitzer shell are high enough above the shocks, just got to find a decent way of mounting a couple of body posts horisontally..

Frog scorcher - part 1
JennyMo

Hi Case1 - I agree, the body is not in the final position yet (just resting on in fact) - but I might go for a slightly larger wheel/tyre combo anyway, so the clearance would be required...

I guess it's a bit like the kit-car community? Eventually we'll see more hybrid Scorchers than originals, like the AC Cobra? xx

Fitting hex drive wheels onto a brat pt2
deejay1711

Hi Deejay - I'm planning on doing something similar myself, but was wondering if just a single bearing is enough to support the wheel properly? How do you find it runs with this set up? (ie. a bearing polyed into the Hex socket) Many thanks...

Thanks Tobbe70 - I'm a bit of a fan of retro colours, and love the orange/yellow combo... I've got some similar plans for my 'Scorcher project too...

Blue willy

Many thanks guys... I'm glad you like him! Just brought him in from the garage - he's lacquered and stickered now! (need to get the heat gun on those stickers to smooth them down though...)

Well, let me see how I get on with mine first Swedishwiking... I want to get the body and wheels sorted on the Frog chassis, then it will be the first one I paint...

Frog scorcher - part 2
JennyMo

Thanks guys! While I was away I saw the RR/BC was going to be re-issued, so emailed a friend of mine in the UK who used to be into RC cars - he emailed back two minutes later having ordered one! I saw it built up the other week, and it looks fantastic! I bet he buys the Sand Scorcher too now x

Frog scorcher - part 2
JennyMo

I am tempted Connor I must say... although I really wanted to paint the lower half orange (which would clash awfully with the red Bajadesigns logo, dahling!) as a friend of mine used to have an orange Beetle when she went to art college - it was so rusty she painted grass and daisies along the sills - looked excellent!

Blue willy
JennyMo

Aw, thanks Toykid - I recognized your avatar immediately as yours is my favorite Class-5 Scorcher of all - a total inspiration! I saw this Willy the other day (stop sniggering) - my friend has him in her WW2 on the bookshelf in their house, he looks great behind the wheel... It's inspired me to get on with my own Willy project now too, although I want to get the Scorcher up and running first...

The lights might find their way onto the Beetle project, not sure yet... I also have a Blackfoot Extreme bodyset that I'm itching to fit to this TL chassis - I can't stop!

Porsche 914/6 gt finished
Dante77

That looks fantastic - you've even got the front and rear wheels the same (but different, if you see what I mean)... would it be mean to point out the Porsche Sunoco stickers are reversed though? xx

I can't believe that is an RC model! Unbelievable details and fantastic photos! In my favorites!

Frog scorcher - part 4
JennyMo

Hi Jeffy - yes, I used some spare mountings horizontally above the rear shocks - it means the rear of the body is a little jacked up, but it really needs that clearance for the rear suspension on full compression... I've put the clips on the inside, as the mounts are a bit short for putting clips on the outside - looks neater too of course...

Thanks guys! Just added some photos with the shell resting on the chassis - hopefully you'll get a better idea where I'm going with this?
