Tamiya skoda fabia colin mcrae wrc rally expert built

I looked at these before, the shells cost £70, and that's without shipping.
One of the marketing guys from Skoda uk was a big RC and rallying enthusiast, and got the shells from Czech, the boxes reprinted and sold them through the dealers. Apparently I am not the first to ask my local Skoda dealer. Very hard to find now.

Have a look at my Falcon, I've done a couple of mods and it's turned into a brilliant runner. I think I was watching this one on the bay too.

I got them for £2 including postage on EBay, the wheels are TE37's in 6mm offset, they fill the arches completely, and the tyres are HPI Pirelli rally pattern

I have a thing for rally cars, hopefully I'll be able to build a good collection over the next few years, some bodies are proving very hard to find, like the Skoda Fabia and the Subaru Legacy RS

I was going to bid on this one for spares for mine.
Tamiyoman has got almost everything you'd need to fix this up, plus 3x8x3 bearings fit the front wheels.
I've replaced the front springs with soft rubber washers (spare ear buds from a set of IPod headphones with the redundant plastic bush bearing from the front wheels on top)

I'm waiting on a set of rally blocks but the have spikes where the dimples are on the Tamiya tyres, I'll let you know how they perform
