Thanks for the comments everyone I glad you guys like it :), took me over a year to get the parts I needed to rebuild the chassis. The body, wing & driver were well painted so I kept it along with the wheels, tyres & dyna tech motor everything else on it is new.

_miga_ Your car is what prompted me to get one, I also used it as reference to get the suspension setting nice & realistic.

bigbutt NIB 97' shape impreza body sets are getting quite rare now. If you really wanted one you could give TIMECMDR a message, he might have one spare.

I recently picked up one of these bodysets too, going to keep it NIP since I have one already built for my TG10 restoration. I think if I'm not mistaken this was a limited edition release bodyset made available in late 2000, which might explain why they are rare & sort after now.

ChrisRx718, Would be nice if tamiya could re-release this bodyset on a newer chassis and make life easier for us all :), I agree with that it is extremely rare now and prices are getting silly now.

Jim_GT-R, That and a layer of black would probably seal in the colour better, might try it on one of my old shells.

_miga_ I will keep it NIB, but I have another TA03F impreza that is new built which I have some special decals planned for the bodyset. Will update it in my showroom once its done.

Tamiyabigstuff: I find the classsic shape to be one of the most popular imprezas on tc, thankfully tamiya are going to Re-release the 1999 WRC impreza on TT02 chassis and you can bet yourself that I'll probably order a dozen of them :)

Thanks Klausen! Prices seem to vary wildly for this kit, I've seen some other almost new examples being sold dirt cheap in japan whereas NIB the prices can be quite extortionate. I think the motor is a refurbished acto power, I got another one mint in box too :).

This is what an escort WRC should look like, very nice! Having wider lowered stance gives it that proper tarmac spec look. I did the same to my tg10 1999 impreza though I went a bit more extreme and used a long arm kit to achieve that look.

Integrale: I remember watching the livefeed on virtual spectator and felt extremely gutted for them, esp my school friend who was a big mcrae fan. Love the presentation on these TB01 kits, if I find another with a better box will probably build this one up.

Integrale1: Those are some excellent choices for new releases! I too wish tamiya would create the 1995 group a car in catalunya spec with repsol livery. There are soo many classic rally cars I would love to see tamiya produce on a modern rally chassis. Thanks Tyboart, it does look very nice! The original owner is must be a talented modeler as there is alot of extra details added in. Especially the cockpit interior, for example substituting harness decals with real strap material complete with metal buckles & clips.

Glad you like it mark_biddle! I have got the chassis plates which are also painted up. The original owner chose not to glue these parts down so I have left them off for now.

ChrisRx718: My japanese proxy said it is rare but not uncommon to find them, maybe it was a limited production. But I do agree this is a unique chassis that suits this car well. _miga_: Thanks mate! Keep an eye out for my 1997 impreza build, I think you will like it alot ;).

Crash Cramer: Sure no problem, reference photos added. I think tamiya only did two releases on this chassis, the corolla WRC being the other car. Also I agree it would be awesome if the did some american GT cars in the TA line up like the C7R, ford GT (the new one) or Viper LM.
