This is my 1st hard shell restoration.Got this from a local trading site and it came with electronics. Was in descent shape. But most of the chrome parts needed to be replaced.1st thing i did was completely strip down the kit and cleaned all the parts.Next step was to source all the chrome parts, but after seeing the prices on ebay i was slightly discouraged. It seemed like getting all the parts to complete the restoration,it would end up costing close to,if not more than a NIB.

I eventually found a place locally that does plastic metal plating. So i stripped all the chrome and smoothed most of the surfaced areas before having them rechromed.Once that was done the shell was the next step.Have to thank Henk4focus for the advice on shell restoration.Once all the prep work was done i knew i wanted to finish it in box art but with a twist - so i had the body chrome plated in a dark blue metal finish. The only frustrating thing was that i misplaced the new flag i bought somewhere in my toy/hobby room.Sure it will turn up when im not trying to find it.

A new Bullhead kit - $350(ZAR2450) without shipping and electronics. This Bullhead cost $240(ZAR1700) in total with electronics.Im very happy with the restoration outcome as well as the eventual cost.Thanx for looking.Comments always welcome.

Looks beautiful, always liked the BH over the Clod. Seems to have a lot more character and is way more eye catching on the move.
