Hasbro GI Joe Willy's Crawler Part 3
Alright, on to part 3. I had to get creative with a transfer case mount to get the Wheely King tranny mounted securely. I made a cardboard template and then cut it out of aluminum sheet. Worked great! I tried a few things with the steering and suspension. The steering servo mounted to the frame was horrible...to much bump steer when the axle moved over bumps...so I axle mounted it. The aluminimun angle used for the front upper 4 link mounts didn't last 2 minutes before it bent, so now all links are mounted to the TLT brackets.

Looks like this is gonna turn into a fantastic willy driving off roader!

This is looking good, just check there isn't too much movement on that tranny plate when it's under strai from the motor, looks a little too thin, unless you wanted a little flex in there, nevertheless it's looking cool.

Thanks for the comments guys.
-Hitch: I thought the plate was too thin as well, but it has held up very well. If I were to do it all over again I would have left more plastic in the Jeeps faux xfer case girdle so I could sink more than 3 screws to mount it..

Is it a Willys 1/4 ton? I love this car, and I´ll stay tuned about the progress of this proyect...

TRF - Yep it's a 1/4 ton Willy's MB.
Scooby - Yes, lots of thinking! Especially about which way all the shafts and gears must turn in order for it to go fwd. Good thing there were a handful of these things built on scale4x4.org for me to 'borrow' ideas from.
