Well, I got some old literature today and was flipping the pages and noted that there really was a VW based buggy called the Sand Rover. I thought I would share this advert with all us TamiyaGeeks. I only wish there were some more photos of the real thing, but it would seem all the dune buggy companies were so very close in design to one another, it really doesn't matter all that much does it? Enjoy
Black and white and old, just before I was born!!! A sand scorcher from the front cover A wild green ride, groovy man

Cool!

The hardtop with the T-rod shape is very rare and a buggy of this type in original version is quite worth some bucks these days. Shame we do not have the weather and the beaches in Germany for this type of models. A very small number of buggies is owned by crazy collectors (like me) and are driven only during warm, dry summer days.... But then the show is one of a kind
